Bresaola is a typical Italian dried meat made of beef. It is used as an appetizer on a ‘ ‘Tagliere’ which is a board with cheeses and cured meats eaten during Aperitivo. Bresaola is also eaten as a salad, on a Panino or as a snack. I prefer to keep the Bresaola simple and cover it with lots of lemon juice.
Ingredients
- 60 grams of arugula
- 150 grams of finely sliced Bresaola (good quality)
- 1 lemon
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Black pepper
*Optional parmesan flakes for on top
Preparation
Take a big bowl and add the arugula, a pinch of salt, a drizzle of olive oil and mix with your hands. Then take two plates, cover them with some arugula. Then on top add the Bresaola slices. Take one lemon and grate the zest on top of the Bresaola. Top with an extra drizzle of olive oil, some lemon juice, black pepper and if you like you can add some parmesan flakes on top as an extra touch. But without the Bresaola itself with lemon is tasty enough if you ask me!
Buon appetito!
