Ingredients

  • 450 grams of Baby Pak Choi /normal Pak Choi
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 red chilli pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (peanut/sunflower)
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • Piece of ginger, as big as the tip of you thumb (peeled and grated)
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 50 ml water
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation
Start with washing the Pak Choi and drain them after. If you use baby Pak choi there’s no need to cut them. If you have a bigger size of Pak Choi you can decide to cut them in half. Peel, Smash and cut the garlic into thin slices. Cut the chilli pepper in half, take out the seeds and cut thin slices.

Bring a pan/wok on the heat add a tablespoon of vegetable oil, the garlic and the chilli. Flavour the oil and when the garlic is starting to bronze take both chilli and garlic out of the pan and leave on the side. Then add the Pak Choi, sesame oil, ginger and fish sauce. Let the flavours combine and after 2 minutes add the water. Cover with a lid on top. Leave everything simmer on low heat for another 5 minutes. Then check if it needs some salt and serve with the chilli and garlic on top.

Serving
This recipe is very light and delicious. You can eat it as a side dish with some rice or rice noodles.

Enjoy!
